Samsung has brought forth a 4-minute ad film to highlight its reach when it comes to service. The film has been conceptualized by Cheil India.
The film unfolds with a conversation between Amit (a service representative from Samsung) and a young girl. Amit guarantees the girl that he will reach her place to repair her TV before 7 in the evening. He hops into the Samsung service car and drives through lanes amidst the hills. Shortly, he faces road blocks from fallen trees and a herd of sheep; nonetheless, he wouldn’t let any obstacle stop him from reaching his destination.
On a short call during his journey, Amit reassures the young girl that he will most definitely be at her doorstep by 7 pm. Once he reaches her house, he was taken by surprise to be greeted by a blind girl. She escorts him inside and guides him to the faulty TV. Amit fixes it in a jiffy. Once the girl hears the sound of the functional TV, she reaches out to ring a bell.
As she rings the bell, she announces about beginning of a TV show, and many children who are unfortunately blind, rush towards the TV room, holding one another’s shoulders. The girl takes the remote from Amit, and puts on a channel showcasing a musical reality show. The first singer on the show, Prerna, crooned to the tunes of ‘tere bin nahi lagda dil mera dholna’ by Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn. She was blind, just like others in that house, and her performance was cheered by one and all.
In the end, it was disclosed that the young girl wanted the TV to be fixed for Prerna’s performance, who is her best friend and a fellow hostel-mate. The ad film concludes with Amit leaving the house, content in his heart. In the end a voice over states – ‘At times one must go further for the sake of relationships’.
